The preliminary cause of the fire at the Solnechnogorsk construction market has been named.

A fire at a construction market in Solnechnogorsk could have occurred due to an emergency operation of electrical equipment, or due to careless handling of fire. This was reported on May 28 in the press service of the Moscow region prosecutor's office.

"On the afternoon of May 28, 2025, a fire broke out on the territory of the construction market located on Promyshlennaya Street," the Telegram channel wrote.

The fire covered more than 2 thousand square meters of the territory. Firefighters arrived at the scene, extinguishing is currently underway. As noted in the supervisory authority, after the elimination of the fire, an inspection will be organized.

"According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire could be careless handling of fire, or an emergency operation of electrical equipment," the report says.

It is specified that the final causes of the incident will become known after an inspection of the site and a fire technical examination.
