- Putin noted the contribution of generations of endocrinologists to the study of a range of problems

On May 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his greeting to the participants of the National Diabetological Congress, noted that many generations of endocrinologists have made significant contributions to the study of various problems. The text of the President's welcome telegram was published on the Kremlin's website.
"Over the years, many generations of your predecessors — scientists, doctors, specialists, and nurses — have made a huge creative contribution to the study of a wide range of problems related to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dangerous diseases, accumulated truly unique scientific and practical experience, and provided qualified care to tens of thousands of patients," the document says.
He also stressed that the traditions laid down earlier continue to be developed by the staff of the National Medical Research Center of Endocrinology named after Academician I.I. Dedov.
In addition, the President added that the annual forums contribute to the effective development of sought-after areas in healthcare. Specialists from both Russia and abroad have the opportunity to discuss current professional issues, exchange experiences, get acquainted with the results of the latest research and determine the prospects for joint work.
Earlier, in February, Putin said that the increase in domestic spending on science by 2030 should reach at least 2% of GDP. The Russian leader explained that achievements in science are a fundamental issue for the sovereignty and future of the state, and that it determines the development of the country, the security and quality of life of citizens.
