More than 300 employees of Berlin's only major brewery went on strike, which will lead to the loss of 2.5 million bottles of the drink. This was reported on May 27 by the German newspaper BZ.

The Radeberger Group brewery suspended beer production on Tuesday, from 21:00 (22:00 Moscow time). All production was stopped for 25 hours. According to the newspaper, employees are demanding a 7% salary increase.

"Radeberger's first and so far only offer does not even compensate for past price increases in the supermarket," said Uwe Ledwig, chairman of the Food Industry Trade Union (NGG) of the Eastern Regional District.

He noted that the Berlin brewery pays the lowest hourly rate, while other breweries in Bavaria or Bex have already increased it by 3%. It is specified that this is the third strike of the brewery in the German capital — in total, the company suspended its work for 115 hours.

Earlier, on May 14, Elena Fritz, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, told Izvestia that Germany could face serious losses in its industrial base in the next 5-10 years if the current course does not radically change. According to her, the strikes at Ford factories and the departure of Mercedes are just symptoms of a deeper process of erosion that threatens entire industrial chains.
