- A US citizen urged her captive nephew from the Ukrainian Armed Forces to stay in Russia

A US citizen called on her nephew, who was captured by the Russian military from the North group, to stay in Russia at any cost. This was reported on May 28 by the Telegram channel of the group's fighters, which published a video message.
The military met Ukrainian border guard Yevhen Bespartochny, who contacted them through a feedback bot for voluntary surrender, and agreed to record video messages from his close relatives for him.
"The first video message was sent by the aunt of prisoner of war Nick White from the USA. We managed to show it to Evgeny a few months ago and give him time to consider the wishes of a person close to him," the representatives of the North group said.
After that, the former Ukrainian border guard asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to leave him in Russia until the end of active hostilities. In addition, Bezpartochny asked to consider the possibility of granting him political asylum, and in the future, to obtain Russian citizenship.
On May 26, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin announced an increase in the number of captured Ukrainian soldiers on the front line. According to him, a significant part of the prisoners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine got to the front line due to forced mobilization.
