- The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation promised to fulfill budget obligations even in case of new sanctions

All obligations of the Russian budget for 2025 will be fulfilled, including in the case of the adoption of new sanctions packages. This was announced on May 28 by the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov.
"Even if some additional packages of restrictions and sanctions are introduced, everything that is provided for in our financial document this year will be fulfilled," he said during a speech in the State Duma (State Duma).
The Finance Minister stressed that obligations to people, as well as to support technological sovereignty, will be fulfilled as a matter of priority. According to him, no budget cuts or optimizations are planned this year.
In the case of the implementation of anti-Russian restrictions, Siluanov called for looking at the next three years and balancing the budget to ensure financial stability and macroeconomic stability.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 10 that it was an empty matter to intimidate Russia with sanctions. He noted that the country has already become accustomed to sanctions and knows how to mitigate their consequences after their introduction. Prior to that, on April 25, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, noted that anti-Russian sanctions had not hindered the economic development of the Russian Federation.
