A decrease in the number of abortions was registered in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug

In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug in 2024, there was a decrease in the number of abortions by 20% compared to 2023. Such data was provided by Larisa Belotserkovtseva, deputy of the District Duma and president of the district Center for Maternal and Child Health.

In her Telegram channel, she wrote that last year the absolute number of abortions in the region was 4,709, which is 19.5% less than in the same period last year. In 2023, 5817 abortions were performed.

Also in 2024, 1,249 women in a state of reproductive choice out of 4,115 who sought medical attention refused to terminate their pregnancies. This figure is 2% higher than in 2023, writes the news agency " <url>".

In February, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law extending the maternity capital program until December 31, 2030. It is assumed that the implementation of the program will require additional budget expenditures in the amount of 2.776 trillion rubles.
