A local resident was detained in the Kamchatka Territory on suspicion of publicly justifying terrorism. This was announced on May 28 by the press service of the FSB of Russia for the region.

It is noted that a criminal case has been opened against the man under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public justification of terrorism committed using the Internet"). According to the investigation, the person involved in the Telegram messenger expressed support for the Ukrainian right-wing radical movement and its active supporter who took part in the fighting against Russia.

Investigative measures are being carried out in the criminal case, the department added.

The day before, the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Trans-Baikal Territory reported on the detention of a resident of Chita for calls to terrorist activities. According to the agency, the man on social media called for a violent change in the constitutional order of the Russian Federation. A criminal case has been opened.
