Bastrykin brought under control the case of the murder of teenagers in the Irkutsk region

Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, has put under control the investigation of the criminal case of the murder of teenagers in Baikalsk, Irkutsk region. This was reported on May 28 in the press service of the department.

"The head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed Anatoly Sitnikov, head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk Region, to report on the circumstances established as part of the investigation of the criminal case," the Investigative Committee's Telegram channel clarified.

It is clarified that a criminal case was initiated under articles on the murder of two or more persons and on attempted murder (paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 105, part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code).

The deaths of five teenagers and the wounding of four as a result of a knife attack became known earlier that day. It is specified that after that, the alleged suspect set fire to the house and died as a result of the fire that started.

Later, the Commissioner for Children's Rights reported that one of the injured children had undergone surgery. An operational headquarters was set up in Baikalsk following the incident. Three days of mourning were also declared after the deaths of the teenagers.
