- The Russian Ambassador in Stockholm pointed out the seriousness of Swedish support for Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Sweden has supplied Kiev with "serious" types of weapons worth $8.2 billion, including armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, artillery systems and combat boats. Russian Ambassador to Stockholm Sergey Belyaev told RIA Novosti about this on May 28.
"The amounts that Stockholm allocates to assist Kiev at the expense of the Swedish budget are enormous: since the beginning of its operation, $9.5 billion, of which about $8.2 billion is exclusively military aid," Belyaev said.
According to him, Sweden has supplied Kiev with long-range radar detection and control aircraft, about 200 armored personnel carriers, 90 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, eight Archer artillery systems, as well as tanks, combat boats and combat equipment.
The Ambassador noted that the Swedish government's support for Ukraine and the desire to inflict political, economic and military defeat on Russia have become a topic around which all political forces in the country have united.
"Unfortunately, Swedish society, pumped up by local media propaganda about the alleged Russian threat, mostly supports this line of their government," Belyaev added.
In his opinion, despite the negative consequences of this policy for the Swedish economy, it is difficult to change this trend in the foreseeable future.
On February 28, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian military has been closely monitoring Sweden's activities since its accession to NATO. According to him, all necessary measures are being taken in this direction.
