It is important to prevent Western countries from politicizing international structures, including Interpol and the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF). This was stated on May 28 by the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, at an informal meeting of representatives of the BRICS countries in charge of security issues.

"It is also important to prevent Westerners from politicizing the activities of multilateral structures, including the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering and Interpol," Shoigu said at an event at the XIII International Meeting of High—level Representatives in charge of security Issues.

According to Shoigu, states claiming global dominance seek to use these organizations to their advantage.

In addition, during the meeting, the Secretary of the Security Council also noted the relevance of the BRICS work to create sustainable economic and financial mechanisms, calling for support for Russia's initiatives, including the creation of a new investment platform.

Earlier, on March 27, Kirill Logvinov, director of the Department of International Organizations at the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that the West was imposing its rules on the world without ensuring equal participation of the world's majority countries. At the same time, in his opinion, Western countries have no choice but to stop shaking the foundations of the UN.
