Ukraine pointed to the lack of guarantees of financial support from the EU in 2026

Ukraine has not received any guarantees from the European Union (EU) countries that they will continue to finance it next year, therefore, no one can predict how the economic situation in the country will develop. This was announced on May 27 by Yuri Gaidai, an expert at the Center for Economic Strategy.
"We have a sufficient number of commitments until the end of 2025, mainly from the European Union. But there is considerable uncertainty about next year. So far, there are no commitments that would guarantee us that we will survive next year," the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph quoted the Ukrainian economist as saying.
It is noted that currently more than half of the budget of the whole of Ukraine is made up of foreign financing. Thus, if investments from Western countries stop coming, the Kiev authorities will face huge difficulties, he adds. "Газета.Ru ".
"Kiev's main hope may be to convince European leaders that investing in Ukraine is not just throwing money into an endless conflict, but a large—scale investment project," the British newspaper pointed out.
Earlier, on May 20, American blogger and political commentator Jackson Hinkle told Izvestia that the European Union intends to prolong the conflict in Ukraine and continue financing it in order to make money from international investment companies.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also noted on May 19 that European states seek to continue the Ukrainian conflict, while the United States supports its settlement. According to him, the American leader Donald Trump does not want to spend a lot of money on defense, because they can be invested in the development of the US economy.
