A man who fired a carbine was detained in Khakassia.

In Sayanogorsk, police detained a 48-year-old man who opened fire with a hunting carbine from his apartment. This was announced on May 28 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Khakassia in its Telegram channel.

"The man opened fire through the front door with a firearm, firing more than 20 shots. As a result, the garbage chute and the door of the neighboring apartment were damaged," the regional department said in a statement.

Local police officers took measures to ensure the safety of the residents of the house, after which they detained the shooter. No one was injured in the incident.

"Two hunting carbines, which he legally owned, were taken from the man," the regional department of the Interior Ministry recorded.

A criminal case was opened against a resident of Sayanogorsk on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism committed with the use of weapons"). The man faces imprisonment for up to seven years.

Earlier, on May 23, a criminal case was opened in the Voronezh Region on attempted murder after a shooting near the railway station. Experts conducted an inspection of the scene and questioned the witnesses. They managed to find CCTV footage showing the moment of the crime.
