Five teenagers were killed and four injured after a knife attack in Baikalsk

In Baikalsk, Irkutsk region, five teenagers were killed and four injured as a result of a knife attack and subsequent fire in an apartment building. This was announced on May 28 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Telegram channel.

"According to the investigation, there was a group of young people in a private house in the horticultural non-profit partnership (SNT) Gorny Baikal. At some point, one of them attacked those present with a knife. As a result, four teenagers died on the spot and four more were taken to a medical facility with various injuries," the department said.

It is specified that after that, the alleged suspect set fire to the house and died as a result of the fire that started.

A criminal case has been opened on the murder of two or more persons and the attempted murder of two or more persons.

The suspect in the case is the babies' father.

Earlier, on April 14, a 29-year-old resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was detained in Kansk after she killed three of her children with an axe. A four-year-old girl and two boys aged seven months and eight years were killed. Later it became known that the woman is registered with a psychiatrist. Her husband was brought to administrative responsibility for beating his 7-year-old son.

Later that day, neighbors told Izvestia about the closeness of the killer. Other neighbors shared that the detained woman often talked to herself. They noted that the children did not stand out for their special behavior, they only made noise during games.
