Belarus lifted the ban on the import of potatoes, onions, fresh white cabbage and apples to the republic from unfriendly countries, including the European Union (EU). The press service of the Government of the country informed about it on May 27.
"The government has lifted the ban on the import and sale of potatoes, onions, fresh white cabbage, apples originating from unfriendly countries, including all EU member states, on the territory of the Republic of Belarus," the Cabinet's Telegram channel says.
It is specified that the corresponding decree of May 27 was signed by the Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin, the newspaper reports.Ru». According to the government, the republic's actions demonstrated "openness, peacefulness, and the principle of good neighborliness."
The representative of the European Commission, Balash Uvari, announced on May 23 that the EU had decided not to extend the temporary duty-free import of agricultural products from Ukraine.
