The head of the German government is mostly supported by supporters of the CDU/CSU bloc (74%). Among the Social Democrats, Merz's satisfaction rating was 44%.
The German newspaper Tagesspiegel reported on May 23 that 32% of respondents are dissatisfied with the work of the new Merz government coalition, which consists of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Christian Social Union (CSU) and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).
