The beaches of Crimea comply with all standards, there are no deviations from the norms in drinking and sea water, as well as in beach sand. This was announced on May 27 by the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova.
"To date, there are no discrepancies in seawater, beach sand, beach pebbles, atmospheric air, or drinking water on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula. Everything absolutely complies with hygiene standards," Popova told reporters.
She noted that Rospotrebnadzor specialists are continuing to study samples both in local laboratories and in Moscow.
"We continue such close monitoring, including monitoring of every batch of fish and seafood caught here," the head of the department added.
In addition, Popova spoke about cases of infection with the new coronavirus NB gene variant.1.8.1. According to her, four new cases of infection have been identified in the Russian Federation, while the situation is under constant control of the department.
On April 18, Popova stated that the coastal areas of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol are safe for summer holidays, despite previously recorded minor emissions of fuel oil.
