The head of the governing Presidential Council of Yemen, Rishad al-Alimi, on Tuesday noted Russia's support for the Yemeni authorities, peace and security in the country. He announced this on May 27 upon arrival in Russia on an official visit.

"I would like to express my gratitude for Russia's consistent support of the Yemeni people and their leadership, as well as confidence that the visit will open up new ways for fruitful cooperation and coordination in the interests of both countries," al—Alimi told the Yemeni Saba news agency.

In addition, the Yemeni leader praised the long-standing relations between Yemen and Russia, which last for almost a century.

According to the agency, al-Alimi's visit will also include meetings with senior officials of the State Duma and the Russian government, as well as with other key figures interested in Yemen's cultural and intellectual heritage.

On May 26, the Russian Embassy announced the evacuation of all Russians from Yemen from the ship Seven Pearls, which was damaged in the US strike. The Russian sailors, who are part of the crew of the tanker Seven Pearls, which was injured during the American strikes on the Yemeni port of Ras Isa, successfully left the territory of Yemen in full force.
