The analyst has calculated the number of Chinese Toyota in Russia

Since 2022, almost 25,000 Chinese-made Toyota vehicles have been imported to Russia. This follows from a message from Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, who published the results of deliveries of Japanese-made cars on his Telegram channel on May 27.

Chinese-made Toyota cars were not supplied to the Russian market until 2022, and the first cars (nine in total) were delivered to the country at the end of that year. However, already in 2023, more than a third (8.4 thousand units; 36%) of new Toyota cars sold in Russia were manufactured in China.

In 2024, the share of Toyota cars assembled in China accounted for 61% of all sales (12.7 thousand from 20.8 thousand units). In 2025, the share increased to 74%, from January to April of this year, 3,654 copies of Chinese Toyota were sold.

"The prospect is obvious. Russians love Toyota cars, regardless of where they were produced," the analyst concluded.

Toyota is currently manufacturing cars in China in joint ventures with local manufacturers. For example, with FAW and GAC companies.

The day before, Sergey Tselikov said that after the end of official deliveries of Mercedes-Benz cars to Russia, from March 2022 to April 2025, 19.2 thousand German-made passenger cars were imported into the country. The largest supply channel is Belarus.
