Trump spoke about the EU's desire to hold meetings with him amid the trade war

The European Union (EU), amid the escalation of the trade war, turned to the United States to select meeting dates to resolve disputes. This was announced on May 27 by US President Donald Trump.
"I have just been informed that the EU has urgently asked to set meeting dates quickly," he wrote on the Truth Social network.
Trump added that he hopes for the EU's decision to "open up" European countries to trade with the United States. The US president recalled that he had made a similar demand to China.
"The EU and China will be very happy and successful if they do this," he concluded.
On May 26, Trump agreed to postpone the imposition of duties of 50% on goods from the European Union to July 9. According to the American leader, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, asked him about it during a telephone conversation.
