- Anapa to discuss solutions to eliminate consequences of oil spill on the Black Sea coast

The satellite event of the V Congress of Young Scientists will be held in the resort city from 2 to 4 June. This was stated by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev.
"The satellite event of the Congress of Young Scientists will be held in the Krasnodar Territory for the first time. Representatives of the expert community will select the best technological solutions to eliminate the consequences of the oil spill on the Black Sea coast. They will discuss the methods already used for cleaning sand and water from fuel oil, which are actively used in Anapa and Temryuk district. This is the first time in the world that we have faced such an emergency situation, but science is not standing still and is preparing new solutions to combat environmental threats that will be useful both now and in the future," said Veniamin Kondratiev.
Scientific sessions will be held in Anapa for three days, where participants in project groups, together with representatives of government and business in the region, will discuss the development of a set of measures to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation in the Kerch Strait. The experts will propose methods for use in the marine area and on land, develop a way to monitor the ecosystem in the Kerch Strait and form a comprehensive plan for future scientific research.
Among the participants of the event are representatives of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Management, and the Kuban Science Foundation.
The results of the scientists' work will be used to ensure timely response to emergencies in the future and the development of environmental education in the interests of the country's technological leadership.
The satellite events of the Congress of Young Scientists in 2025 will be held, in addition to the Krasnodar Territory, also in the Tula and Sakhalin regions. They are held annually to involve the Russian scientific community in solving the most important tasks of the country's regions. The results are already being used in practice, from avalanche monitoring systems to tsunami forecasting technologies.
The V Congress of Young Scientists will be held on November 26-28, 2025 at Sirius University of Science and Technology. This is a key event of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, announced by President Vladimir Putin in 2022-2031. This year, the program will focus on the topics of scientific and technological development and the role of science in implementing the priorities of Russia's Scientific and Technological Development Strategy, updated in 2024.
