Five people were killed in an explosion at a chemical plant in Shandong Province in eastern China. This was reported on May 27 by China Central Television (CCTV).

"As a result of comprehensive search and rescue operations at all levels <... As a result of the accident, five people were killed, six people were missing," the article says.

It is specified that 19 people were slightly injured. Currently, search and rescue and cleanup operations at the scene are still ongoing.

An explosion at a chemical plant in eastern China was reported earlier in the day. The incident occurred at about 11:57 a.m. local time (06:57 a.m. Moscow time). The cause of the explosion is not reported.
