- Mishustin spoke about the prospects for export growth through the North–South corridor

In the coming years, the North–South International Transport Corridor (ITC) will be able to create additional opportunities for the growth of goods supplies from Russia to foreign countries. This was stated on May 27 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Governing Commission for the development of the North Caucasus.
"We continue to expand the transport corridors. First of all, the international ones are North—South," Mishustin said.
He stressed that this corridor has already become a key logistics hub and is capable of significantly increasing the volume of supplies of Russian goods to most promising markets in the future.
Earlier, on March 18, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told Izvestia that Russia considers the North-South transport corridor as a way to connect the ports of the north-west of the Russian Federation with Iran, as well as the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. In addition, all countries of the Global South can potentially be involved in the work of this transport system, the deputy head of government noted.
