The head of the Novokakhovsky city district, Vitaly Guru, was dismissed from his post after the incident at the Memorial to the Memory of the Patriotic War. This was announced on May 27 by the Governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo.

"I dismissed the head of the Novokakhovsky city district, Vitaly Guru. The reason is the unworthy and discrediting behavior of a representative of the government at the Memorial to the Memory of the Great Patriotic War," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Baldo added that Gura's membership in United Russia has also been suspended.
