US President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of lifting for Ukraine all military restrictions imposed by the previous administration, including a ban on the use of long-range weapons to destroy targets in Russia. This was reported on May 27 by the Kyiv Post, citing sources.

"All previously imposed restrictions, regardless of whether they have already been relaxed or not, are currently being reviewed, as President [Trump] believes that the current status quo does not meet our common interests in bringing Russia to the table," the official said.

According to the publication, the head of the White House will make the final decision after discussions with the German authorities this week.

On May 26, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that Britain, France, Germany and the United States had lifted restrictions on the range of missiles supplied to Ukraine. He noted that now it is necessary to ensure the supply of these weapons to Kiev. However, later the co-chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), Vice-Chancellor of Germany Lars Klingbeil refuted Merz's statement about the lifting of restrictions.
