Krasnov highly appreciated the work in the anti-corruption control system in Cambodia

Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, during a meeting with Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Service of Cambodia Om Yentieng on Tuesday, May 27, praised the country's systematic work to create a solid system of anti-corruption control.

He stressed that combating corruption is one of the priorities of Russia's policy. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed this, and also approved a number of strategic documents in this area.

Krasnov also noted the special importance of anti-corruption issues for the state and informed the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Service of Cambodia that the Russian Prosecutor General's Office is the central authority for the implementation of the entire range of measures in this area.

"In addition to controlling the income and expenses of officials, we have broad powers in the field of confiscation of corrupt proceeds in civil proceedings. The Prosecutor's office also coordinates the activities of the entire law enforcement system to combat crime, including corruption," the Prosecutor General emphasized.

Earlier in the day, Krasnov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council of Cambodia, the head of the Senate of the Kingdom, the head of the People's Party Hun Sen. During the talks, he outlined key areas of cooperation in law enforcement, scientific and educational spheres. The Russian Prosecutor General also stressed his willingness to help strengthen partnerships between the defense departments.
