- The participant of "Ecology is everyone's business" will present the project at the CITES World Youth Summit 6

The CITES World Youth Summit opened in Singapore today, bringing together 53 countries. Singapore's President Tharman Shanmugaratnam attended the event, according to the press center of the International Rosprirodnadzor Award "Ecology is Everyone's Business."
According to Svetlana Radionova, head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, Russia is represented by Alexandra Poltoratskaya, an active participant and volunteer of the Ecology is Everyone's Business International Children's and Youth Award, as well as Alexander Naumenko, the head of the award. They will present a project aimed at protecting Red Book animals.
The CITES World Youth Summit is taking place at the National University of Singapore, where 76 young leaders from 53 countries have gathered to work together to promote the legal, sustainable and controlled wildlife trade. During the week, participants will learn from leading experts, share experiences, develop practical projects and innovative solutions for the conservation of biodiversity in their regions. Alexandra Poltoratskaya, an active participant and volunteer of the Ecology is Everyone's Business Award, will present her project at a major international venue. Her work is dedicated to the protection of Red Book animals. According to the organizers of the summit, the project approach allows not only to solve specific environmental problems, but also to train a new generation of professionals capable of working effectively in the field of nature conservation and sustainable development.
"Rosprirodnadzor is the authorized body for performing the functions of CITES in Russia. The Service is responsible for issuing permits and certificates for the import and export of endangered species of wild fauna and flora. It also monitors compliance with the rules of international trade in rare species. The issues of conservation of endangered animals are relevant all over the world. And it is very important to share our experience in this field. Rosprirodnadzor has experience in creating a unique project "Bear Patrol", which is designed to prevent conflicts between humans and predators. Our initiative was supported by the President of Russia, and the project is already being implemented in six Arctic regions. Methodological materials have been created, seminars and trainings are being held for the population living in the polar bear area. And we really appreciate that today eco-activists from different countries have gathered at a large site in Singapore, who will create innovative solutions and projects and later implement them. I would like to emphasize that thousands of works on the topic of biodiversity conservation and protection of Red Book animals come to the International Prize "Ecology is everyone's business" from all over the world every year. There are a lot of projects specifically about polar bears. And this is understandable: the white bear is the symbol of our award. And in general, this is one of the most beloved animals in Russia, they are very interesting to watch. It would be great for the polar bear to be associated with our country, to be known and loved all over the world," said Svetlana Radionova, head of Rosprirodnadzor.
By creating a global community of like-minded people and shaping the future of responsible environmental management, participants of the CITES World Youth Summit in Singapore will be able to study the inner workings of international environmental organizations, understand decision-making mechanisms in the field of wildlife protection, and learn how to evaluate various aspects of wildlife trade.
