Russian President Vladimir Putin was skeptical about the possibility of making a marriage proposal through the Gosuslugi portal. Commenting on the initiative, he stressed that it is better to take such steps personally.

"Probably, in order to save time, it's not bad, but in general, it's better to do such things personally, looking into each other's eyes, experiencing certain emotions," he said at a meeting of the supervisory board of ANO Russia — the Land of Opportunities.

Putin also said that the Gosuslugi portal has become a truly popular resource and has acquired its own traditions. According to the head of state, the platform is especially actively used by young people.

He stressed that despite such manifestations, this is not the main achievement.

"In my opinion, the most important thing that has been done is that we have enabled civil servants to create the solutions they need on their own, without expensive IT development," Putin said, noting the importance of accessibility and effectiveness of digital tools in the work of government agencies.

Ekaterina Zabolotskaya, lawyer and managing partner of ROCK Counselor, spoke on March 14 about the advantages of formalizing a marriage. Zabolotskaya noted that banks are much more willing to approve loans to family people, as for them this confirms their social stability and responsibility. In addition, a registered marriage may provide an advantage such as receiving tax deductions.
