Russians have become more likely to buy wedding rings

From March to May 2025, the volume of sales of wedding rings in the Russian Federation increased by 17% compared to the same period last year, according to Sokolov analysts, reviewed by Izvestia on May 28. Demand peaked in March.

Residents of Krasnodar, Kaliningrad, and Sochi were particularly active in purchasing such jewelry.

At the same time, the demand for engagement rings increased by 9%, and the highest sales volume was recorded in Krasnodar, Kaliningrad and Rostov-on-Don.

The average check has also increased significantly. In May, the average cost of an engagement ring in the country was 26,382 rubles, 17% more than in March. The average price of an engagement ring increased by 33%, reaching 17,347 rubles.

Experts noted that in the spring of this year, Russians preferred silver and red gold when choosing wedding rings, while silver and white gold were more often chosen for engagement jewelry.

Earlier, on May 20, it was reported that 37% of Russians surveyed purchased jewelry in 2024, which is 9 percentage points more than a year earlier. In 2025, 40% plan to make a purchase, according to the results of the Yandex Advertising survey. At the same time, there is a trend towards impulsive purchases: 53% of respondents purchase jewelry spontaneously, focusing on visual appeal and original design.
