German journalist denied approval of Taurus shipments to Ukraine

Germany did not approve the delivery of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. This was announced on May 27 by the editor-in-chief of the Bild newspaper, Paul Ronzheimer.
"There are no new developments or solutions regarding the Taurus. There will be no news about this during [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Putin's visit tomorrow. Zelensky to Berlin," he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The journalist stressed that he had talked with sources in both the Ukrainian and German governments. According to him, Kiev is currently using German weapons with a limited range and designed to strike "only certain targets."
On May 26, Merz announced that Britain, France, Germany and the United States had lifted restrictions on the range of missiles supplied to Ukraine. He noted that now it is necessary to ensure the supply of these weapons to Kiev.
Later, the co-chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), Vice-Chancellor of Germany Lars Klingbeil refuted Merz's statement about the lifting of restrictions. The next day, the German Chancellor said that he had talked about the decisions that had been taken a few months ago.
