- The Russian military has launched major exercises in the Baltic with the participation of more than 20 ships.

The Russian Baltic Fleet has started a planned exercise in the Baltic Sea. This was announced on May 27 by the press service of the fleet.
More than 20 warships, boats and support vessels, including frigates, corvettes, small missile and anti-submarine ships, as well as minesweepers, are taking part in the maneuvers. About 3,000 military personnel, up to 25 aircraft and helicopters, as well as about 70 units of military and special equipment are involved in the exercise.
"Currently, the ships have left their bases and deployed to designated areas of the Baltic Sea to perform combat training missions," the report said.
It is specified that the exercises are taking place with the involvement of part of the forces of the Northern Fleet with the support of aviation of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of the Moscow and Leningrad military districts.
As part of the exercises, the crews of the ships will solve anti-submarine tasks, work out protection against unmanned boats, and also conduct practical artillery firing at sea and air targets.
On the same day, a detachment of ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet conducted joint maneuvers with participants of the LIMA 2025 international exhibition in Malaysia. The maneuvering was carried out in the wake and front formation. The discrepancy from the joint formation to the established angles was also worked out. During the event, deck helicopters took off into the sky above the ships.
