A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that the Russian Armed Forces liberated Staraya Nikolaevka in the DPR, the units of the Center group of forces improved their position along the front line, and the units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses.

In addition, 204 aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems, 141 of them outside the area of a special military operation.

"Operational-tactical aircraft, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated a combined-arms range, ammunition depots and rocket and artillery weapons, a production shop and storage sites for strike unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary deployment points of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 148 districts," the Defense Ministry said.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 59,856 unmanned aerial vehicles, 607 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23,607 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,565 multiple rocket launchers, 25,314 field artillery and mortars, 36,044 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
