The Ministry of Defense showed footage of combat work during the liberation of Staraya Nikolaevka in the DPR

On May 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of combat operations during the liberation of the settlement of Staraya Nikolaevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"The Old Nikolaevka of the Donetsk People's Republic has been liberated. Now we can confidently say that the work is moving to the next settlement. The main problems, of course, are that the terrain is open and difficult to overcome. These are surveillance drones, and FPV crews that constantly influence our troops," said the deputy commander of the motorized rifle battalion of the 10th Tank Regiment of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Orekh.

He added that support during the assault was provided by tank crews who worked from closed firing positions to protect equipment and personnel from attacks by enemy drones.

In addition, according to the military, before the operation, the command tries to maintain high morale among the military personnel.

After capturing the village, Russian units repulsed four enemy counterattacks.

Earlier that day, it became known that the Russian military had liberated the village of Staraya Nikolaevka in the DPR. It was noted that in the area of responsibility of the Southern Group, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 280 soldiers, as well as two Senator armored fighting vehicles.
