In St. Petersburg, investigators have opened a criminal case into the death of a teenager from electric shock on the roof of a train. This was reported on May 27 on the website of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

It is specified that the teenager was on the roof of an electric train, as a result of which he received an electric shock from the contact network at the Lanskaya railway station.

"The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case into the fatal injury of a young man <...> on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic safety rules and operation of railway transport, resulting in the death of a person by negligence")," the message says.

Currently, investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

On May 26, the North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office announced that a teenager who had climbed onto the roof of an electric train had died from an electric shock in St. Petersburg. It was noted that the minor received an electric shock when he was on the roof of an electric train that was moving from the Finlyandsky railway station to Zelenogorsk.
