Veterans of Military Operations Day will be celebrated in Primorye on July 1.

A new holiday has appeared in Primorsky Krai. On July 1, Military Veterans Day will be celebrated. The relevant amendments to the regional law on holidays and memorable dates were adopted by the deputies.

News agency UssurMedia, with reference to parliament, writes that the holiday was established in recognition of the merits of participants in hostilities, local wars and armed conflicts after 1945 both in the USSR and Russia, and abroad.

The initiative to introduce a new date belongs to Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Anton Voloshko and head of the regional Committee on Security and Law and Order Andrei Andreichenko.

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma is discussing new benefits for participants in the special operation in Ukraine. Among the measures promoted by the deputies are an increase in monthly payments to combat veterans to the minimum subsistence level, a reduction in the retirement age for CBO fighters, as well as the cancellation of part of the mortgage loan for military families.
