The Russian military liberated Staraya Nikolaevka in the DPR

The Russian military liberated the village of Staraya Nikolaevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday, May 27.

"As a result of the active and decisive actions of the units of the Southern Group of Forces, the settlement of Staraya Nikolaevka of the DPR was liberated," the ministry said in a statement.

In the group's area of responsibility, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 280 soldiers, two Canadian-made Senator combat armored vehicles and 12 vehicles. The Russian army also destroyed a field artillery cannon and two ammunition depots.

In addition, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit the manpower and military equipment of the mechanized, assault, mountain assault and airmobile brigades of the Ukrainian army in the areas of nine settlements of the DPR.

After capturing the village, Russian units repulsed four enemy counterattacks.

On May 27, the military of the Russian Armed Forces liberated Belovody and Vladimirovka in the Sumy region. It was clarified that the Ukrainian army lost up to 275 militants, four armored fighting vehicles, nine vehicles, four field artillery guns, an electronic warfare station, and a counter-battery radar station.
