Despite the existing differences in the positions of the United States and the Russian Federation on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, the political will to implement the agreements reached remains. This was announced on May 27 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing.

"It is clear that the Russian and American sides should not and cannot agree on everything. There will always be certain discrepancies," he said, commenting on the impact of US President Donald Trump's critical statements about the situation in Ukraine on the process of organizing a prisoner exchange between Russia and the United States.

According to Peskov, work on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict continues.

On April 24, Peskov said that against the background of consultations in London, the United States, Europe and Ukraine had problems with the convergence of the parties' positions on the issue of conflict resolution. He noted that the Russian side, in turn, is negotiating through various channels, which are a "different angle" of the process.
