Peskov said about attempts by the media to disrupt the peace process in Ukraine

Many media outlets are trying to disrupt the peace process in Ukraine and encourage the United States to impose new sanctions against Russia. This opinion was expressed on May 27 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing.
"A large number of media outlets are de facto taking part in a campaign aimed at disrupting the peace process and which aims in every possible way to incite Americans to impose new sanctions," Peskov said, answering a question about the possible imposition of sanctions by US President Donald Trump.
He stressed that the Kremlin is aware of this, but at the same time notes the "balanced" approach of the United States and Trump.
"It is clear that not everything is simple, it is clear that you want everything sooner, but such a complex substance related to resolving the problem of the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict, which takes time. Work is underway," Peskov concluded.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on May 26 that Trump may impose new anti-Russian sanctions this week. It was noted that the reason for this decision was the disappointment of the American leader with the pace of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
