In the summer wellness program of 2025, school camps in the Eastern Administrative District will host more than 9 thousand children. Such data were announced at a staff meeting held by the acting governor of the autonomous region, Maria Kostyuk. The meeting was devoted to the organization of the summer wellness campaign.

According to IA EAOmedia, this year, for the first time after 1.5 years of forced downtime due to repairs, the Scarlet Sails children's health camp will be operational. Now it will work all year round.

The first floor of the camp was completely renovated. This year, the showers and the medical unit will be renovated, and a multimedia screen will be installed in the auditorium. Next year, they plan to reconstruct the food hall and improve the territory. 47 million rubles were allocated for these purposes.

The head of the region drew attention to the expansion of social support measures. The amount of compensation for the cost of a trip for low-income families was increased from 14.6 thousand to 21 thousand rubles. According to Kostyuk, quoted by IA EAOmedia, the goal of the authorities is to make children's holidays in the EAO affordable, safe and comfortable.

Earlier, on May 24, it was reported that State Duma deputies sent an appeal to the government on the organization of children's recreation. The lower house of parliament called country camps inaccessible to most children and demanded that measures be taken to remedy this situation.
