Since May 20, air defense systems have destroyed more than 2,000 Ukrainian UAVs over the regions of the Russian Federation.

From May 20 to May 27, air defense systems destroyed 2,331 Ukrainian strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the regions of Russia. This was announced on May 27 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The ministry noted that since May 20, Ukraine has multiplied the number of strikes using drones and Western-made rockets against civilian targets in Russia. Civilians, including women and children, suffered as a result of these attacks.

"From 20:00 Moscow time on May 20 to 08:00 on May 27 this year, 2,331 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed and intercepted by air defense systems on duty, including 1,465 unmanned aerial vehicles outside the special military operation zone," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a Telegram channel.

The ministry recalled that at the initiative of the Russian side, direct dialogue with Ukraine was restored for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. However, the Kiev authorities, with the support of European countries, continue to commit provocative actions aimed at undermining the negotiations.

In particular, on May 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a massive attack on the city of Lgov in the Kursk region. As a result of the attacks by Ukrainian militants, 16 people were injured, including two children. In addition, 64 private houses and 28 apartments were damaged due to a massive missile strike. A terrorist attack case was opened on this fact.
