In Chelyabinsk, two passengers of bus No. 51 suffered burns due to a malfunction of the air conditioning system in the cabin. This was reported on May 27 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.
"The public transport driver did not take measures to help the injured girls, they had to get to the medical facility on their own," the SU IC Telegram channel clarified.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the safety of life or health of citizens"). The investigators demanded documents related to the organization of transportation and ensuring the safety of passengers.
The regional Prosecutor's Office is checking the carrier's compliance with technical requirements and legislation. As a result, prosecutorial response measures will be taken and legal assistance will be provided to the victims, the department's Telegram channel says.
On May 24, it was reported that a driver was injured as a result of a school bus fire in the Kolomna city district of the Moscow Region. Previously, the cause of the vehicle fire could be a wiring malfunction.
