Zakharova revealed details of the upcoming memorandum on the settlement in Ukraine

Russia continues to prepare a memorandum on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, which will specify, among other things, the timing of the conclusion of a peace agreement. This was announced on May 27 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Russia continues to develop a draft memorandum on a future peace treaty, defining a number of positions, such as the principles of settlement, the timing of a possible peace agreement, and a potential cease-fire for a certain time. If appropriate agreements are reached, I would like to emphasize," Zakharova said at a briefing, adding that the document would be handed over to the Ukrainian side immediately after its completion.
The diplomat also noted that Ukraine is conducting similar work and is preparing its proposals, which it intends to send simultaneously with the receipt of the Russian memorandum. However, Zakharova expressed concern about the actions of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who, according to her, is trying to complicate the peace process by demanding tougher sanctions against Russia and increased arms supplies.
"Those who want peace are not hatching plans on how to supply even more weapons to the region, how to come up with more lethal weapons and how to worsen the situation, preventing those plans or shoots that have now been laid in Istanbul from growing further," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
On May 24, the head of the Russian Public Council for International Cooperation and Public Diplomacy, Sergei Ordzhonikidze, said that the developments on the memorandum on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine would include provisions that had previously been voiced by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian delegation that participated in negotiations with the Ukrainian side. He specified that they will be transferred after the completion of the exchange of prisoners of war in the "1000 by 1000" format.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 21 that the preparation of a draft memorandum on a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine is being carried out behind closed doors. He added that a separate list of conditions for a possible ceasefire would be provided.
