Turkey pointed to EU attempts to disrupt a new round of negotiations on Ukraine

The European Union (EU) is putting pressure on Ukraine to disrupt a new round of negotiations with Russia to resolve the conflict. This was stated on May 27 by Turkish political analyst Serhat Latifoglu.
According to him, the negotiation process is likely to be divided into several stages, each of which will be devoted to individual aspects of the settlement. At each stage, the Russian Federation and Ukraine will try to develop a roadmap on the agreed aspects of conflict resolution.
The analyst also stressed that Western countries continue to put pressure on Kiev, hindering the progress of the peace process. At the same time, he pointed to disagreements within the EU itself.
"Russia is still called and appears to be a threat. But disagreements within the EU are already making themselves felt, a number of countries openly express disagreement with the policy of Brussels," RIA Novosti quoted Latifoglu as saying.
On May 25, the head of the European Union (EU) diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, called on Western countries to exert "the strongest pressure" on Russia to allegedly end the conflict in Ukraine. According to Kallas, such measures should be introduced so that "Russia does not destroy Ukraine."
Earlier that day, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kastutis Budris said it was necessary to isolate Russia and tighten sanctions against it. According to him, compliance is not the way to peace, but only to allow the continuation of "aggression."
