The doctor told about the threat to the health of children in the sandbox

While playing in the sandbox, a child can become infected with a number of diseases. About this on May 27, "Gazeta.Ru" was told by the pediatrician of the SM Clinic for children Ulyana Gureeva.
Most often, a child becomes infected with intestinal infections — E. coli, shigella, rotaviruses, noroviruses, campylobacteria and salmonella.
"The manifestations can be different: from abdominal pain and diarrhea to fever and vomiting," explained Gureeva.
Sand becomes a medium for helminths, fungi, and even SARS pathogens. With cuts and abrasions received on the playground, the risk of tetanus infection is not excluded.
However, the expert shares the rules that reduce the risk of infection. Among them are the renewal of sand, restriction of animal access, and keeping children's hands clean.
"It is very important to undergo preventive examinations in a timely manner and adhere to the vaccination calendar, and consult a doctor for any alarming symptoms. This will help to identify possible infections in time and start treatment," concluded the pediatrician.
Earlier, on May 26, infectious disease specialist Vera Serezhina reported on the danger of "mouse disease", or yersiniosis. The disease can lead to damage to internal organs.
