Calculations of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) "Hurricane" of the Zapad group of forces disrupted the rotation of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during a combat mission. This was announced on May 27 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"This time, the calculations of the Uragan MLRS of the 236th Guards Artillery Brigade of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Zapad group of forces disrupted the rotation of enemy units while performing firing tasks in one of the directions in the area of their operation, destroying armored vehicles and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the department said.

Enemy positions were discovered earlier during aerial reconnaissance. After that, the coordinates of the found targets were promptly transmitted to the artillery command post.

After that, the MLRS crews struck using 220-millimeter rockets. The shooting was conducted from a distance of 25 km.

"After conducting live firing, the Uragan MLRS crews changed their firing positions to spare ones in order to avoid retaliatory fire from the enemy. Due to the significant range and extensive damage area of the Hurricanes, they are a powerful tool for conducting counter—battery warfare and attacks on enemy rear positions," the Defense Ministry summed up.
