Al Jazeera has claimed 81 deaths due to Israeli strikes on Gaza.

During the day, at least 81 people died due to Israeli strikes on various areas of the Gaza Strip. This was reported by Al Jazeera on May 27.

According to the TV channel, 53 people were killed in airstrikes on the city of Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is also attacking the town of Khan Yunis in southern Palestine, the TV channel claims.

The IDF has stepped up operations around the entire perimeter of the exclave — during one of the strikes, the head of the military wing of Hamas was killed.

On May 18, Israel launched a new ground operation in the Gaza Strip, dubbed the "Chariots of Gideon." Its goal is to establish tighter operational control of the Israel Defense Forces over the Palestinian enclave and destroy the command system of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas.

The IDF's plans to expand its ground operations in the Gaza Strip became known on May 17. The Israeli army said at the time that they continued to seek the release of the hostages and the destruction of Hamas.
