North Korea calls the Golden Dome system a threat to the security of the United States

The Institute for U.S. Affairs at the DPRK Foreign Ministry called the new American Golden Dome missile defense system a threat to the security of "hostile states" because this system is designed not only for defense, but also for attack. This was reported on May 26 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"The Golden Dome missile defense system plan, aimed at protecting the North American continent from attacks <...> is not a "defensive measure" against any "threat", but a scenario of a space nuclear war that reinforces the American strategy of unipolar dominance," the KCNA reported, citing a memorandum from the institute.

According to the Institute for U.S. Affairs at the DPRK Foreign Ministry, the Golden Dome is one of the attempts to militarize outer space by the United States. The agency believes that the new American system can only be countered by a "symmetrical buildup of superior forces" by other world powers.

The United States has tested the Minuteman III ballistic missile again.

Earlier, on May 24, US President Donald Trump announced the large-scale production of hypersonic missiles in the United States. He announced this during a ceremony at the Military Academy at West Point.
