Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Dan Bongino on Monday, May 26, announced the resumption of the investigation into the discovery of drugs in the White House in July 2023.

"We have decided either to reopen the investigation or to attract additional resources and investigative attention to a number of cases. This is the investigation of the pipe explosion in the District of Columbia, the discovery of cocaine in the White House of the previous administration of [ex-President Joe Biden] and the leak of the Dobbs case to the Supreme Court," he wrote on his Facebook page. Twitter).

Bongino added that he receives weekly briefings on these cases.

A suspicious powder was found in the White House on July 2, 2023. A Secret Service official said on July 4 that the American president himself was not in the White House on the day the substance was discovered. The NBC News channel, citing sources familiar with the examination, found out the next day that the suspicious white powder found turned out to be cocaine.

The US authorities have launched an investigation into how the powder got into the territory of the president's official residence in Washington. The US Secret Service is focused on identifying the visitor who left a highly addictive narcotic substance, and is reviewing surveillance footage, as well as examining entrance logs.
