In Turkey, a resident of Balikesir province confessed to murdering a woman who rented an apartment from him because of loud noise and unwillingness to move out. This was announced by Milliyet on Monday, May 26.

According to the newspaper, the police found the body of 59-year-old Gulseren Kurtman on May 20. It was established that the woman died due to a blow to the head with a blunt object.

The next day, police officers detained the apartment's owner, 70—year-old Irfan Cakar. The man confessed to the crime.

According to him, on the day of the murder, he had an argument with a woman, as a result of which he hit her on the head with an axe and a baton. After that, he and his wife hid the body in a barn. The couple was arrested by court order, the newspaper added.

Earlier, on February 9, the son of a well-known Italian chef in Turkey, Mattia Minguzzi, died in an Istanbul hospital from stab wounds. The incident occurred on January 24 at a flea market in Kadikoy district, where Minguzzi came with friends to buy skateboard gear. A group of teenagers approached them, one of whom told the Italian chef's son that he was very handsome and offered to make friends. Minguzzi replied, "I'm sorry, brother," after which a local resident attacked him.
