Szijjarto criticized the EU's plan to abandon Russian energy resources

If the European Union (EU) bans nuclear fuel from Russia, it will lead to tragic consequences not only for Hungary, but for the entire European energy market. This was announced on May 26 by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.
"If the European Commission and Brussels banned Central European countries, including Hungary, from purchasing fuel cells from Russia, this would have tragic consequences not only for Hungary, but for the entire European energy market," the Hungarian minister was quoted as saying by the MTI news agency.
Szijjarto stressed that this would lead to higher prices and put the European economy in a much more difficult situation than it is now. According to the politician, Hungary has the opportunity to say "no" to this, and the Hungarian people have the opportunity to stop Brussels' plans.
"That is why I ask everyone to express their opinion on whether Ukraine should be a member of the European Union. It's time to stop this plan of Brussels, which wants to support Ukraine, while at the same time increasing several times the expenses of Hungarian families for utilities," he added.
Earlier in the day, Hungarian Foreign Ministry Secretary of State Tristan Azbey criticized the EU authorities' policy on Ukraine. In his opinion, the Brussels authorities are constantly giving "harmful and dangerous" responses to the Ukrainian crisis.
