Meridian highway in Chelyabinsk will be closed for six months

In Chelyabinsk, the Meridian highway, which runs through the entire city, will be closed for six months. The highway is being closed for repairs, according to the Hurrah news agency.<url>" on Monday, May 26.

The work will take place from March 24 to October 1, 2025 in three stages. The cost of the contract will amount to almost 300 million rubles, according to the public procurement portal.

Road workers will repair the highway from Novomechanichesky Street to Rozhdestvensky Street. The warranty for the top layer of asphalt lasts four years, for the bottom — five.

Earlier in May, it was reported that trams No. 15, 18 and 22 were re-launched in Chelyabinsk. Public transport runs through the Leninsky district.
